Spring Menu

Menu Guidelines

Two weeks with a different menu each day to be repeated for the 6 fortnights in the season.
Each daily menu consists of a soup, two main meals and a fruit based dessert to choose from.
Each meal will follow the Australian Dietary Guidelines for nutrition and portion size.
Meals will cater for a variety of tastes and needs, responding to the local community.
YamDaisy will use seasonal, plentiful ingredients and avoid expensive ones.
YamDaisy meals must be easy for a tiny staff to cook in quantity in a small but well equipped kitchen.

This is a sample menu only! We want to show the type of lovely menu a YamDaisy Cafe will provide, but for each cafe the chef will produce a menu based on local ingredients, and responding to the local needs and wants.

Week 1

Monday
S        Cauliflower Soup with a Herb Roll
M1     Pasta and Meatballs in a Tomato Sauce, with a Side Salad
M2     Chicken Skewers with Rice, Vegetables, and a Satay Sauce
D        Fresh Apple Slices with a Creamy Almond Dip

Tuesday
S:      Roasted Butternut Pumpkin Soup with a Flaky Parmesan Scone
M1:   Hearty Chicken and Chickpea stew with Basmati Rice
M2:   Baked Tuscan Lasagne with Mediterranean Salad
D:     Honey Nut Apple Crumble with Vanilla Cream

Wednesday
S      The Famous YamDaisy Vegetable Soup with Garlic Bread
M1   Roast Lamb with Braised Beans and Mashed Potato
M2   Rice and Dal with Salads and Pappadams
D      Kiwi Fruit Salad with Banana Ice-cream

Thursday
S:       Grandma’s Chicken Noodle Soup
M1:   Spanakopita with Lemon Couscous and Spring Salad
M2:   Home Style Meat Loaf with Parmesan Mash and Glazed Carrots
D:      Baked Ricotta Slice with Stewed Fruit

Friday
S:      Famous Yam Daisy Vegetable Soup and Fresh Baked Dinner Roll
M1:   Spicy Thai Fishcakes with Coconut Rice and Cucumber Salad
M2:  Beef Burgundy with Roasted Potatoes and Green Beans
D:     Cinnamon Poached Pears with Caramel

Week 2

Monday
S        Black Bean Soup with Pita Triangles
M1     Savoury Pumpkin Pie with a Spring Salad
M2     Greek-Style Lamb Casserole with Rice and Greens
D        Spring Fruit Salad with Star-Anise Dressing

Tuesday
S        Celery Soup with Pumpkin Bread
M1     Broad Beans with Lemon and Parsley, Boiled Egg, and Crusty Bread
M2     Potato Bake with Pork Chipolatas and Fresh Greens.
D        Berries with Sweet Soft Cheese

Wednesday
S        The Famous YamDaisy Vegetable Soup with Croutons
M1     Asparagus Quiche with a Hearty Salad
M2     Lamb Shank Stew with Steamed Spring Vegetables
D       Baked Apples and Custard

Thursday
S        Asian Flavours Spring Soup
M1     Beef and Rosemary Pie with New Potatoes and Greens
M2     Stirfried Vegetables and Rice with Grilled Chicken Pieces
D        Poached Fruits with Rose Cream Sauce

Friday
S        The Famous YamDaisy Vegetable Soup with Pasta
M1     Tuna Mornay with Crispy Potatoes and Coleslaw
M2     Panfried Vegetable Patties, with Rice Pilaf, and Fresh Tomato Sauce.
D        Fruity Trifle
